"If Michael was right, Jennie may have been a breath away from witnessing a murder." Pg. 19

This quote is explaining that the dead of Jennie's teacher had happened soon before she was suppose to meet with him. Even a breath away as what the quote says. She soon after goes to the office because she can't find her teacher and they find him behind the counter. She gets notified that her teacher has been shot, she couldn't believe what happen. She wanted to run when she heard the police say fingerprints because she hadn't done anything wrong but the police might think otherwise.

"When I went to check, he wasn't there an the door to the faculty parking lot was open." Pg. 16

This quotes is explaining how Jennie was looking for Mr. Mancini. She heard voices in Mr. Mancini's office and when she went to check, there was no one there. The door to the Parking lot was open and Mr. Mancini's car was there but no Mr. Mancini. She got really worried and wanted to call the police.  But she didn't want to do it in case it was a false alarm.  She still thought is was very strange and very unlike Mr. Mancini not to be very punctual for meetings

"Yes Michael. Jennie's here to see Tom. His car is here, but he doesn't seem to be anywhere around" Pg. 17

This quote is explaining how the church secretary call another pastors for help.  She got Pastor Michael to come over and look in the restroom because Mr. Mancini was a heat condition.  When Michael went into the restroom Mr. Mancini was not in there.  So he went do to the chemistry department and found him dead.

"D-did he have a heart attack?" Pg. 18-19

This quote explains how Jeannie feel guilty of what happened to Mr. Mancini.  She thought is was a heart attack but found out that he was shot.  Pastor Michael called the police.  This really scared Jeannie because she was a breath away from witnessing a murder.  With the police involved she wanted to run because she didn't want it to make like she was guilty, which she was not. 

"You were in the lab, but you didn't find the body?" Pg. 21

This quote was when the officers were questioning Jeannie, one just happened to be someone she knew, "Rocky".  Rocky didn't believe her that she was just there to talk to Mr. Mancini about her chemistry project.  She wasn't totally honest about why she was there either.  She was trying to information on the meth labs.  She did tell the officers that she left after she thought that Mr. Mancini just forgot about the meeting.
